Founded by Wang Chiung-jung in 1992, the Chiung Jung Dance Troupe is a dance company with over 20 years of performing history. Since the 2000s, the Chiung Jung Dance Troupe has been rated as an "Outstanding Performance Team” for 12 years in a row by the Cultural Affairs Bureau of both Taichung County and Taichung City. In 2009, it was selected by the Council for Cultural Affairs to perform in the "Big Hands Holding Little Hands to Move Forward” and made five touring performances at local cultural centers. In October 2009, it represented Taichung County to take part in “2009 Tottori Japanese Festival”, a national dancing competition held in Tottori Prefecture of Japan, and won a very high accreditation form the Japanese side. That performance trip was considered by many as a successful Sino-Japanese cultural exchange. Over the years, the Chiung Jung Dance Troupe has participated in the dance performances for a number of important occasions, such as the Huludun Cultural Festival, Taichung County Shenkang Local Arts Season, Imperial Palace in Beijing - Outstanding Heritage Exhibition of Qing Dynasty, Empress Champion Exhibition, Mongolia Cultural Relics Exhibition, Folk Art Exhibition organized by the National Museum of History, The 600th Anniversary Exhibition of Zheng He Going Southeast Asia, Taichung County Mazu International Cultural Festival, Taichung Traditional Arts Festival, the Taipei International Flora Exposition, Taichung City Children's Art Festival and the opening ceremony and press conference for Japanese Tottori Prefecture’s Kitaro Monster Park Exhibition in Taichung, etc. The Chiung Jung Dance Troupe is still actively creating new programs and participating in various cultural and artistic performances. It is always trying its best to reach a new height every day.
